Happy St. Patrick's Day! What better way to celebrate than with a signature green beverage in hand. Don't worry, you can make this again tomorrow (and the day after that).
This healthy twist on a Shamrock Shake gives you two ways to feel like you're indulging with a mint chocolate chip milkshake.
The fun comes at the end, when you add either chocolate chips (or cocoa nibs) for a bonus crunch. Ready to try this recipe? Read on.
Ingredients for your Healthy Shamrock Shake - Choose (more & less sweet options):
- One individual packet of your choice of Non-Sweet Vanilla Professional Restore (for less sweet), or regular Vanilla Professional Restore (for more sweet). Veggie options are also available.
- One organic banana, peeled, sliced, and frozen (Don't forget to peel the banana before freezing!)
- One cup organic baby spinach leaves, washed
- Half cup greek yogurt (or coconut yogurt, for dairy free)
- Two cups unsweetened vanilla almond or coconut milk
- Half cup ice
- One teaspoon organic peppermint extract
- Handful of dark chocolate chips (or cocoa nibs)
Instructions for your Healthy Shamrock Shake Smoothie:
- Peel and freeze a few bananas, so you'll have these easily on hand when you're ready for your shake.
- In a blender, pour almond or coconut milk; then add spinach, yogurt, ice and sliced frozen banana.
- Add your favorite choice of individual packet of Restore.
- Add peppermint extract.
- Place lid on blender and turn power to high, until smoothie is fully blended.
- Then, add the chocolate chips (or cocoa nibs) and pulse to break them up until they are blended, but still leave plenty of fun little bits for a crunchy texture.
- Pour into tall glass and enjoy!
